J'ba FoFi Giant Spider Video Evidence From America

In the prehistoric era, a plethora of gigantic bugs roamed the Earth. From giant dragonflies to massive millipedes, almost every modern insect you see today had its own colossal counterpart. The oxygen levels during the time simply allowed for bigger arthropods. In the current era, though, some individuals claim that similar creatures still exist and that the Earth’s atmosphere may still support them.

One of these creatures is known as the J’ba FoFi, or the Congolese Giant Spider, a dark-haired arachnid supposedly between 4 and 5 feet long capable of hunting human beings. With several sightings across central Africa, it’s difficult to dismiss the possibility that perhaps there is an unknown species of spider that large. The J’ba FoFi is said to construct underground tunnels beneath tree roots and wait for prey they can ambush, similar to the manner in which trapdoor spiders hunt. It is also said to lay walnut-sized eggs which eventually hatch into small, brightly colored versions of the creature. A bite from a Congolese Giant Spider is deadly, and there is actually a documented case of a Western explorer dying after purportedly being attacked by the J’ba FoFi in Africa.

Most encounters do take place in Africa, however some believe other parts of the world are also capable of supporting enormous spider species such as the Southern states of America. The climate in these states is incredibly humid, and millions of arthropods thrive in it. Is it possible that a large, unidentified arachnid is roaming the Earth undetected?

This brings us to a fairly new case of unexplained footage from Alabama. As Jamie Williams explored the woods behind her house, she decided to bring a camera along to show her friend. Jamie works for a chemical supplier, but she has a passion for nature and walks through the woods frequently. “I wanted to bring a camera the next time I went back there, so I could show [my friend] how beautiful it is during the spring. What I ended up catching on camera made me scared of ever going into the woods again.” Before sending the video of her nature walk to her friend, Jamie watched the footage out of curiosity. To her horror, she spotted something quite unusual sitting in a tree. Judging from the tree in the video, the creature in question is estimated to be between 1-2 feet. It was pale and had several legs. Although it looks like a spider, it is unclear how many legs it had exactly. One thing is for sure: if it was a spider, it would easily be one of the world’s largest. When Jamie pans the camera to the left of the creature and then back, it is suddenly gone. What was the mysterious creature in that video? It is certainly unlike any native animal seen before. Was it a J’ba FoFi sighting or something more easily explained? It seems like we’ll never know for certain. Other footage of giant spiders does exist, but Jamie’s is perhaps the clearest known video of its kind.
